Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Staying Deluxe at Disney
Disney’s Contemporary Resort is the original resort to Disney World, first named “The Tempo Bay Resort Hotel”.? It opened October 1, 1971.
The Contemporary Resort is composed of the original A-Frame main building (tower rooms are located here) featuring a large open-air atrium, the garden wing, and the Bay Lake Tower.? Disney’s Contemporary Resort underwent major renovations in 2005 when one garden wing was demolished to make room for Bay Lake Tower that opened in 2009.? It is home to some of the most expensive Disney Vacation Club rooms offered at the time.? The tower connects to the main building on the 5th floor.
This resort has beautiful views of Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon along with nightly views of “The Happily Ever After” fireworks in Magic Kingdom.
Magic Kingdom is most easily accessed from this resort.? You can simply walk across the street and quickly arrive at the Main Gate which is a great benefit at the end of the night when the boats and buses have a line to access.
