Updated August 2026

Boo to You! It’s the spookiest time of the year at the Magic Kingdom and Love of the Magic has all the information you need to dodge the tricks and leave with all of the treats. This event occurs after regular park hours and requires a separate ticket for admission. From trick or treating to spotting rare characters to some of the best entertainment of the year, this event is frightfully delightful. Read on for your comprehensive planning guide for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2026.

Party Overview

This is by far my very favorite time of year to visit and for many others as well. The weather is perfect, the crowds are a tad bit lighter (especially in September and early October), the official holidays are just around the corner, the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is in full gear, and the ghouls and goblins are out at the Magic Kingdom! Just kidding! It’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! There is nothing scary about it. Trust me, I’m the biggest scaredy cat to roam the earth – if there was a ghoul or goblin around, I would not be attending! But because it’s NOT SCARY, I have attended MNSSHP for nearly 15 years! I highly recommend everyone attend at least once if your budget and time permits. I guarantee you, you will be back for more! It is that much fun!

The best dates to attend the party are usually anytime in August and early September, and on Sundays – Wednesdays in September and October. Friday and Saturday in October have a tendency to be very busy due to locals attending the party as well as vacationers. Halloween (October 31st) is the most crowded and historically has sold out well in advance. If you plan to attend on Halloween, be sure to purchase your tickets early.

It is also good to know ahead of time that the party goes on rain or shine! The parades or fireworks may be canceled during the evening due to weather, but the party still happens.

Dates & Ticket Prices

This year boasts 38 event nights, with the first party starting on August 7th and the final party being Halloween night.

August 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28, and 30

Ticket prices start at $109 for children 3-9 and $119 for ages 10+. The highest priced ticket is $219 for children 3-9 and $229 for ages 10+. The prices are cheaper the further out they are from Halloween Night, with the entire week of Halloween holding that top dollar rate. Annual Passholders and Disney’s Vacation Club members can save $10 per ticket for event nights August 7 – October 2, 2026.

The Headless Horseman will ride out prior to kick off the parade in iconic style.

Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular

With appearances from Dr. Facilier, Maleficent, and Oogie Boogie at 3 different showtimes throughout the evenings of August 9 – September 28 at 9:05 pm, 10:40 pm, and 12 am. 4 shows will be offered from September 29 – October 31 at 7:40 PM, 9:05 PM, 10:40 PM, and 12 AM.

Trick-Or-Treating

Trick-or-Treating is a must-do activity at the party! There are trick-or-treat opportunities stationed all throughout the park! Visit any of these multiple time for extra candy and chocolate!

Trick-Or-Treating with Allergies

Do you have a food allergy? If so, Disney has a special trick-or-treat experience for you!

While at Mickey’s No-So-Scary Halloween Party, see a Cast Member to pick up a teal-colored treat bag – the official color of food allergy awareness. These are available at any treat location and at the official Allergy-Friendly Centers located at Merchant of Venice (in Tomorrowland) and the Liberty Square Ticket Office (near The Hall of Presidents).

When you trick-or-treat with your teal bag, Cast Members will give you a teal token at any treat station. You can redeem your teal tokens at the Allergy-Friendly Centers to receive your special treats!

Strategies

With party time starting at 7PM on select nights at the Magic Kingdom, there are only 5 hours of party time to meet rare characters, ride attractions, trick-or-treat, and see the exclusive fireworks and parade! There is no question, if you want to maximize your time and money at this event, you will need to devise a plan and determine your priorities! Just remember, even the best plans can’t often squeeze it all in. Do what is most important to you first!

Starting at 4PM, if you are already in Magic Kingdom and have tickets for that evening’s MNSSHP, locate specific cast members scattered throughout the park to receive your trick-or-treat bag and event wristband.

If you are coming from another park or your hotel, you can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4PM through a designated entrance. NOTE: These date-specific event tickets DO NOT require an additional day theme park ticket OR theme park reservation.

Upon checking in for the party, you will receive your trick-or-treat bag and event wristband.

If you enter the park at 4PM, know that the park is still open to the general public usually until 6PM, so the crowd levels may be high for a few hours. You will still be able to successfully ride at least 2 or 3 attractions before the actual party begins if you plan accordingly.

Beginning around 6PM, the Cast Members will begin to shuffle non-event guests out of the park. This is why it is essential that you obtain your event wristband. This indicates to Cast Members that you have a paid party ticket for that evening.

Note that Lightning Lane Multi and Single Pass reservations are not available during the party. Generally lines during the party are manageable depending on the popularity of the attraction. If you have a regular day park ticket, you can book Lightning Lane attractions up until park closing (usually 6PM) at the Magic Kingdom.

Tips

  • Ride attractions during parade times, most guests are watching the parade so the lines tend to be shorter.
  • Plan to view the second parade of the evening, the first parade is usually the most popular and attracts the biggest crowd.
  • Depending on the date you attend, you may need to plan to claim your spot and wait for the parade up to 60-90 minutes. If you attend the Halloween Party at the end of August or early September, your wait time may be less at 30-60 minutes.
  • The parade begins in Frontierland, however I am a firm believer that the best place to watch it is from Main Street U.S.A. There is nothing like the backdrop of Cinderella Castle in all of your photos!
  • Attractions tend to have the shortest lines of the evening just before midnight when the party is about to end. Save some of the most popular attractions such as Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (SDMT), Peter Pan or Space Mountain for the last 30 minutes of the evening. Dare I say, some may even be walk ons.
  • If your priority is to get photos with special, rare characters such as the Seven Dwarfs or Jack and Sally, plan to wait in very long lines. Generally lines start to form sometimes before the halloween party even begins at 7PM. Wait times could be up to 2 hours, so plan accordingly if you intend to accomplish other things during the evening at the party. Families tend to start to leave around 11PM, chances are if you wait until late in the evening, your wait time may decrease significantly.
  • Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular is shown on party nights usually at 10:15 PM, weather permitting. This firework show can be viewed from various locations around the park. Your best viewing location will always be somewhere in the hub or about 1/4 way down Main Street. There are projections on the Castle during the show that enhance the story of the show! You don’t have to see the projections to enjoy the fireworks, but if you snag a spot on Main Street or in the hub, you will enjoy it more.
  • Take advantage of the PhotoPass Magic Shots at select locations throughout Magic Kingdom Park. The PhotoPass opportunities during MNSSHP are incredible!
  • You can visit candy stations more than once, so stock up!! If you need additional trick-or-treat bags, ask a Cast Member. There are more than plenty for everyone!
  • With the hustle and bustle of the evening, it’s easy to forget about the adorable and yummy special event treats to purchase! Be sure to check them out and pick one up.

Foodie Guide & Merchandise

There are tons of treats and experiences to enjoy during Halloween at Walt Disney World, both throughout the day and during the special party events. Indulge in returning favorites like the Skull Blondie, a delicious maple blondie with caramel sauce, or try something new and exciting like the Grilled Masa Flatbread, a grilled corn cake topped with butternut squash purée, braised chicken, cilantro-pumpkin seed sauce, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, and queso fresco.
