Eats & Treats with Food Allergies – At Downtown Disney?

I ??love all things Disney! Especially Mickey Mouse! (duh) Their amazing creativity, leaving no detail uthought of, the impeccable service and of course the food!  I think most people can attest to the fact that Disney has some awesome treats that we all look forward to each trip, but for those of us with food allergies, those amazing treats aren’t always available! However, at Disney, they didn’t forget about us! I can list a million (well not really) treats as well as meal items that Disney  has to offer those of us that are gluten and dairy free!

Today’s eating adventure took place at Downtown Disney!  We ate at Raglans Irish Pub. It had the most amazing atmosphere and decor! We were there for lunch, so it was a bit quiet, but I can imagine what a fun dinner destination it would be! The facility has a large stage with live musical instruments, as well as a smaller stage for a performer to dance.  I’m definitely going to have to return for dinner!

The waitress beamed about the possibilities of gf food available!  In fact, her opening statement was “when’s the last time you had onion rings?” (of course I can’t even tell you the last time) “well today is your day!”  And let me tell you, they were every bit as fabulous as I remember them!

Raglans offers a gf batter, and dedicated fryers, so all things traditionally battered and fried were once again mine for the choosing! Yippee!  To follow my onion ring starter, I had fish and chips.  Again, the last time I had that was, well… Before I went gf!  Their gf version was amazing! In fact, my husband tried both the onion rings and fish and said “wow! they’re just as good as the real thing!” Really words can’t describe how good it was!

After a fantastic lunch we headed over to my favorite gf vegan bakery!  This is heaven for a girl who is not only gf but also diary free!  Baby Cakes NYC has a new bakery open in Downtown Disney.  Previously they had a small corner in a shared shop in DTD, but they have recently opened their very own space in the newest addition of shops.  The space is adorable and the treats are well, treats!  You can also find their cupcakes, donuts and other treats (selections vary by location) at:

  • The Beach Club Marketplace – Disney’s Beach Club Resort
  • The Boardwalk Bakery – Disney’s Boardwalk Resort
  • The Gardens Kiosk – Disney’s Animal Kingdom
  • The Mara – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
  • Landscape of Flavors – Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
  • Everything Pop – Disney’s Pop Century Resort
  • They also take orders for delivery to most table service dining locations with in the resort area!

And of course, there are locations outside the magical world of Disney!

I seriously LOVE Disney World and all of the unique and themed things it has to offer!  Downtown Disney has been this ever evolving (as Walt would want it) magical area that continues to transform itself into something new and exciting!  Next time you’re there, make sure you check it out!

And just for good measure, here is one of my favorite views at Downtown Disney.  It has always been cool, but the newness being created around it, just makes it even cooler!

We live in Florida and spend our weekends playing at Orlando's many theme parks and visiting the beach. In 2015, after helping numerous families plan their vacations to various Disney Destinations, I started a blog to answer all of the many travel questions I received daily. In 2016, the blog grew into a travel agency, and Love of the Magic Vacations was born. With a team of nearly 20, we spend our days creating family vacations around the world. What started as a blog is now a full service, worldwide vacation destination planning service. I create custom itineraries for each of my clients that not only meets but exceeds expectations. There is no greater gift than making memories while sharing the world and its cultures with your kids.
