How to Plan: Epcot Food and Wine Festival 2019 Visit

by Jamie Rumph

Epcot Food and Wine Festival 2019 has arrived!

Visit from August 29th – November 23, 2019

Epcot International Food and Wine Festival

With so many things to see and to, and EAT I’ll be sure to be there often to check it all out!

How to Best Enjoy the Food & Wine Festival

  1. Know what you want to eat ahead of time.
  2. Plan your budget.  Eating and drinking around the world adds up fast.
  3. Decide what time you’d like to see the Eat to the Beat Concert.
  4. Make Eat to the Beat Concert dining reservations if desired.
  5. Make a plan for entertaining the kids. I use Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak game to keep them wanting to explore the world showcase.

World Showplace

The center for it all!  World Showplace replaces previous years “Festival Center” that was located in Future World East and brings the “center” to the World Showcase.   You’ll find the seminars you’ve come to know and love at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival here, in between Canada and the UK.

  • Culinary Demonstrations
  • Beverage Seminars
  • Food and Beverage Pairings
  • Mix It, Make It, Celebrate It
  • Tailgate Tasting – New for 2019
  • Cheese Seminars
  • Sunday Brunch with Chef
  • Party for the Senses

Gluten-Free options by country

Disney does an amazing job of providing options that are food allergy-friendly and GOOD!  The festivals are no different!  I’ve tried most of the options before and will share my reviews below.

  • Spice-crusted Verlasso Salmon – Active Eats
  • Fruit & Nut Energy Snack – Active Eats
  • Liquid Nitro Chocolate-Almond Truffle – The Chocolate Studio
    • This one is AMAZING!  It’s always a favorite of mine. It’s not dairy-free so I can only have a few bites but it’s so delicious! The almond topping is the best!
  • Grilled Sweet and Spicy Bush Berry Shrimp with Pineapple, Pepper, Onion and Snap Peas – Australia
  • Roasted Lamb Chop with Sweet Potato Purée – Australia

    • I mean really, can you go wrong with Creme Brulee?  This one is fantastic with a house-made raspberry jam. yum!
  • Le Cellier Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon with Truffle-Butter Sauce – Canada
  • Passion Fruit Cheesecake with Toasted Macadamia Nuts – Hawaii
  • Jerk-spiced Chicken with Roasted Sweet Plantain Salad and Mango Chutney Yogurt – Islands of the Caribbean

What is the Eat to the Beat Concert Series?

Each night Epcot hosts some great musical artists with their Eat to the Beat Concert series.? The upbeat music makes for a concert-style atmosphere that adds to the Food and Wine Festival fun.

In addition to the concert series at the American Garden Theater in the World Showcase, you’ll also find performances around the world and throughout the festival.

Line up 45 mins prior to the showtime for entrance into the theater.  For especially popular artists line up an hour early or book a Concert Dining package for guaranteed seating.

Guests with reserved seating (book a concert dining package for reserved seating) will enter the American Garden Theater first and then standby guests will be allowed entry.  Drinks are not permitted inside the theater.

The last show of the evening is generally the least crowded.

Show Times:

Sundays through Thursdays: 5:30, 6:45, 8:00 pm

Fridays and Saturdays: 6:30, 7:45, 9:00 pm

Location: American Garden Theater, World Showcase
