One of my absolute favorite things to do at Walt Disney World is to explore resorts. Disney does what it does best, and sprinkles magic everywhere! Whether it be at value, moderate, or deluxe resorts, if you explore, you are likely to find magical spots and hidden gems!
When we think of Walt Disney World, we automatically think of theme parks, rides, and character meetings. However, there is another huge magical part of Disney that everyone should experience. I highly encourage you to take the time to explore the magic and beauty of Disney World resort hotels on your next trip.
Polynesian: Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto
If you haven’t experienced this tropical tiki bar, it is a must-do!
This small lounge is tucked away on the first floor of the Polynesian resort and is something you must experience.
They serve delicious appetizers from dumplings to pork tacos, but the star of the show is their specialty cocktails. Not only are these drinks absolutely delicious and unique, but some have their own “presentation” when served by bartenders and waiters. This includes chants, props, and sometimes even fire! You have to see it to believe it!
If you need a break from the parks and a place to relax, have a few laughs, and wake up the tiki goddess – Uh-Oa, this is your place!
Coronado Springs Gran Destino Tower: Dahlia Lounge
This hidden Gem is located on the rooftop of the absolutely beautiful Coronado Springs, Gran Destino Tower.
This new tower, an addition to the Coronado Springs resort, is absolutely breathtaking! When you enter the Tower, the lobby views are stunning, but to find this hidden gem, take the tower elevators up to the top floor.
Here you will find the gorgeous Dahlia Lounge. The lounge is inspired by Spanish surrealism with delicious Spanish dishes and décor not to be missed. Be sure to soak in every detail of this art-filled lounge.
The lounge is a beauty in itself, but the icing on the cake is the rooftop views this lounge features, with both indoor and outdoor seating.
The Riviera Resort: Pool Bar
Ah, the beauty of the French Riviera. From the moment you walk into this hotel, you will truly feel like you are transported to Europe.
My favorite spot to enjoy an evening or get a breath of fresh air is the Riviera Poolside Bar: Bar Riva. This poolside bar has delicious appetizers, tasty drinks, and is within walking distance of the Skyliner.
I love to take the Skyliner over to the Riviera for a mid-day break and enjoy the atmosphere of this open-air poolside bar.
Bonus Hidden Gem: When walking to the Skyliner from the pool bar, or vice versa, be sure to stop by the Riviera’s mosaic murals of Peter Pan and Tangled. These mosaics are stunning and are a great photo op! They are conveniently located on the way to the Skyliner, so next time you venture out to the Riviera, don’t miss out!
Grand Floridian: Enchanted Rose
We all know that the Grand Floridian Hotel is the ultimate Deluxe hotel in terms of its elegance and charm. However, one of its new additions gets the honor of being this resort’s hidden gem!
Calling all beauty and the beast lovers… if you haven’t experienced this gorgeous place before, you must! This elegant lounge has some of the most delicious hand-crafted cocktails on property.
The lounge décor is inspired by the classic Beauty and the Beast and includes beautiful details such as a library, Mrs. Potts, Lumiere, and other fun artifacts from the movie.
The main bar is fabulous, featuring a lovely golden chandelier that is inspired by Belle’s dress!
Bonus Hidden Gem: While you are visiting the Grand Floridian, take a moment to sit in the lobby of the Grand Floridian and take in all of its beauty. There is often a pianist playing Disney favorites. Have a seat and enjoy the ambiance on your way in or out of Enchanted Rose.
Disney’s Beach Club/ Yacht Club: Martha’s Vineyard
This one is one of my all-time favorites in that it is probably the most “hidden” of all the gems.
Located on the first floor in between the Beach and Yacht Club, Martha’s Vineyard is a small, quiet, New England beach house-style lounge.
If you are lucky, you might even catch live music when they occasionally feature a solo singer with his guitar playing some old and new vacation favorites. It is such a great place to relax and unwind and transport away from the hustle and bustle of Disney for a few moments.
Have you been to any of these hidden gems?
