Sailing with Virgin Voyages for the first time? You may be wondering what’s included on Virgin Voyages. Well, you’re in for a treat! This cruise line offers a refreshing take on ocean travel with an emphasis on unique experiences and all-inclusive perks.

To help you plan your adventure, here’s a guide on what’s included on Virgin Voyages (and what’s not).

What’s Included on Virgin Voyages

Virgin Voyages is all about value and inclusivity. Here’s what you can expect to be included on Virgin Voyges:

1. All Meals in Over 20 Eateries

Forget the traditional cruise dining room; Virgin Voyages offers a range of dining options in over 20 eateries, all included on Virgin Voyages. Savor gourmet meals at restaurants like The Wake, Pink Agave (my favorite), and Gunbae. From fine dining to casual bites, your culinary journey is covered without additional fees.  Don’t miss the late-night pizza!

2. Basic Beverages

Enjoy a variety of basic beverages including filtered water, non-pressed juices, sodas, drip coffee, and tea. Stay hydrated and refreshed without any extra charges.  Don’t forget to bring your reusable water bottle. Virgin Voyages does not have one-time-use plastics!

3. Group Fitness Classes

Stay active with an array of group fitness classes available at no extra cost. From sunrise yoga to cardio and strength training, there’s something for every fitness level. The comprehensive fitness program ensures you can keep up with your workout routine while at sea.  The crowd’s favorite is the bungee class. To get a coveted spot while onboard, be sure to put your phone in airplane mode as soon as you board the ship, connect to the wifi, and book it on the app.

4. Entertainment and Shows

Virgin Voyages offers groundbreaking entertainment and shows included in your fare. Experience everything from immersive theater productions and live music to dance parties and drag shows. Every evening promises something unique and captivating.

5. Gratuities

Say goodbye to confusing tipping guidelines. Virgin Voyages includes gratuities in your fare, covering the excellent service from the dedicated crew. This means no surprise fees at the end of your voyage.  Do remember that when you get off the ship in port, you’ll need to tip your excursion guides, drivers, luggage handlers, and anyone who does not work for Virgin Voyages! So don’t forget your cash!

6. Basic Wi-Fi

Stay connected with complimentary Wi-Fi throughout your voyage. Virgin Voyages believes that wifi is a basic human technology right, and I couldn’t agree more! Whether you need to catch up on emails or share your stunning travel photos, you won’t have to worry about extra charges for internet access.  There is an upgraded wifi available for streaming and anything that requires faster speeds.

What’s Not Included on Virgin Voyages

While Virgin Voyages offers a generous array of amenities, there are a few things not included in the standard fare. Here’s what you might need to budget for:

1. Specialty Drinks

While basic beverages are included, specialty drinks such as crafted cocktails, premium coffee, fresh juices, and smoothies are not. Consider purchasing a Bar Tab for a prepaid credit toward alcoholic beverages.  When prepurchasing a bar tap you’ll get “extra” bar tab included depending on how much you spend. But don’t overdo it. Bar tab is non-refundable and won’t save for your next voyage. It’s a use-it-or-lose-it purchase!

2. Professional Photography

Want to capture those perfect moments? Professional photography services on the ship are available but not included. Consider budgeting for some high-quality keepsakes from your voyage.

3. Shore Excursions

Known as Shore Things, these expertly curated excursions are not included in your fare. Whether you want to snorkel in crystal-clear waters, explore historic sites, or enjoy a private beach cabana, you’ll need to book these experiences separately (ideally using Sailor Loot once onboard).  Keep in mind that shore excursions can be purchased seprate from Virgin Voyages with other shore excursion companies. Oftentimes, they’re less expensive and have smaller crowds.  You should be a comfortable traveler to do so, as the ship does not wait if you miss the all-aboard time!

4. Retail Purchases

Shopping at onboard boutiques or purchasing branded Virgin Voyages merchandise isn’t covered. Plan to splurge a little if you want to take home some unique souvenirs from your trip.  Virgin’s boutique stores offer some great brands and beautiful items.  This is a great place to spend your sailor loot.

5. Advanced Fitness Classes and Personal Training

While group classes are included, more specialized fitness programs or personal training sessions come with an extra fee. These can be booked onboard if you prefer a more tailored fitness experience.

6. Spa Treatments

The Redemption Spa offers luxurious treatments like massages, facials, and body wraps, which are not included in your fare. Plan to spend some of your Sailor Loot for these pampering sessions.  If you don’t want a service at the spa consider buying the day pass to enjoy the thermal suite. This pass gives you 3 hours of ultimate relaxation.  The price varies by day.

7. Gambling and Casino

The onboard casino offers plenty of ways to test your luck, but gameplay is not included. Remember, you can use Sailor Loot for casino play, but any winnings cannot be cashed out directly from Sailor Loot.

8. Room Service

While many dining options are included, room service does come with an additional fee. However, using Sailor Loot can help cover these costs if you prefer to dine in your cabin. Or if you’re staying as a Rock Star, the fee is waived.  My other great tip for waiving your room service fee as a regular sailor is to order a specialty coffee or beverage. Those would cost you no matter what, and when you order a paid item through room service, they don’t charge the delivery fee.

Virgin Voyages aims to make your sailing experience unforgettable with its generous inclusions and distinctive offerings.

We live in Florida and spend our weekends playing at Orlando's many theme parks and visiting the beach. In 2015, after helping numerous families plan their vacations to various Disney Destinations, I started a blog to answer all of the many travel questions I received daily. In 2016, the blog grew into a travel agency, and Love of the Magic Vacations was born. With a team of nearly 20, we spend our days creating family vacations around the world. What started as a blog is now a full service, worldwide vacation destination planning service. I create custom itineraries for each of my clients that not only meets but exceeds expectations. There is no greater gift than making memories while sharing the world and its cultures with your kids.
