The Disney Magic

Introduction

The Disney Magic is where it all began for Disney Cruise Line. She’s the oldest ship in the fleet, first setting sail in July 1998. She’s had several dry docks over the years to keep her fresh, the most recent in 2023 adding the new Soul Cat Lounge and expanding the concierge lounge for a little extra luxury.

From the very beginning, Disney’s attention to detail has been unmatched. They even created a custom shade of deep navy for the hull, called Monica Blue, inspired by an Imagineer’s clothing, that looks almost black in certain light. Pair that with bold red and crisp white inspired by Mickey Mouse himself, and you’ve got a ship that wears its Disney heritage proudly. Even the lifeboats got the magic touch. Disney requested special permission to swap the standard orange lifeboats for bright yellow, matching Mickey’s iconic shoes.

Though she shares her design with her sister ship, the Disney Wonder, the Magic has her own personality and charm. A little nostalgic, a little classic, and still every bit the showstopper she was the day she launched.

Pools & Water Features

Deck 9 on the Disney Magic is where the fun (and the splashing) happens. For adults looking for a little serenity, the Quiet Cove Pool offers a peaceful, kid-free escape. Perfect for reading, relaxing, or sipping something frosty. Families gravitate toward Goofy’s Pool, a lively gathering spot open to all ages and framed by the massive Funnel Vision screen playing movies and shows.

For the thrill seekers, the AquaDunk dares you to step into a trapdoor and plunge three stories through a twisting, see-through tube that actually juts out over the side of the ship, but only if you’re 48 inches or taller. Younger cruisers (or the young at heart) can head to the AquaLab, a playful water wonderland featuring Huey, Dewey, and Louie’s mischievous experiments, complete with the Twist ’n’ Spout waterslide for guests 38 inches or taller. Whether you’re chasing thrills, family time, or pure relaxation, there’s a spot on the pool deck just for you.

From sliding down Slinky Dog to wielding Thor’s hammer, there’s endless fun with crafts, games, and even surprise visits from Disney Characters.

Oceaneer Lab – Right next door, the Oceaneer Lab sparks creativity and adventure with pirate-themed play spaces, hands-on art studios, movie zones, and even ship navigation simulators. Guided activities keep young cruisers entertained all day long.

For cruisers ages 11 through 14, Edge is the ultimate tween hangout. A cozy, basement-style lounge that feels like your own private clubhouse. Located on Deck 9, Midship, it’s packed with video game stations, a huge 98-inch screen for Disney movies, space for arts and crafts, and a dance floor for parties or impromptu karaoke. Edge is all about fun.

Vibe | Deck 9

Located in the Disney Magic’s iconic red Forward Funnel, Vibe is a teens-only (15-17) retreat with unbeatable views and an even better atmosphere. Designed like a trendy urban loft, this open, industrial-chic lounge is the perfect place to relax, meet new friends, and just be yourself.
