Disneyland Resort’s 70th Anniversary

Disneyland 70th Anniversary

  • May 16 – Summer 2026

Even though Disneyland’s 70th anniversary kicked off in May, the Summer season features the most important date of the year for Disneyland Park.

July 17th marks Disneyland’s actual anniversary. All summer and until Summer 2026, you’ll find limited-time entertainment, specialty food and beverages, collectible merchandise, and much more. On top of that, Sleeping Beauty Castle will have an elegant medallion and colorful decorations and Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and a few of their pals will have new, stunning outfits in Town Square at Disneyland – just for the celebration! The fan-favorite “Paint the Night” will return, along with the nighttime spectacular “Wondrous Journeys,” enhanced with fireworks on select nights.

Over at Disney California Adventure, an all-new nighttime spectacular, “World of Color Happiness!” will debut, inspired by Walt Disney’s words from his opening day dedication. You’ll also be able to catch the returning parade, “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!”

However, on this date (and this date only), you’ll be able to find extra-special merchandise and foods at the theme parks. In the past, there have been special birthday cavalcades and entertainment.

There’s so much to enjoy to celebrate Disneyland Resort’s 70th anniversary.

Fourth of July

4th of July Food

  • July 4

Walt Disney was known as an American patriot, so it comes as no surprise that July 4th is a big celebration for Disneyland.

All over Disneyland Resort, you’ll find red, white, and blue treats and drinks, decor, and merchandise. The celebration will feature Disneyland’s signature Independence day show, “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky.” And typically, Disney California Adventure has a patriotic fireworks show before World of Color.

Keep in mind, July 4th is one of the busiest days of the year at Disneyland Resort!

Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend

runDisney Halloween Half Marathon Weekend

  • September 4-7

A new runDisney race that debuted in 2024 is back for 2025!

Over the course of the weekend, runDisney athletes will have the chance to participate in four days of Halloween-themed events, including yoga, kids races, a 5K, 10K, and a half marathon. And if you’re really up for it, you can run the 5K, 10K, and half marathon to complete the entire challenge!

Anyone wishing to participate in a runDisney event must register beforehand, so availability is limited!

Halloween time at the Disneyland Resort

Halloween at Disneyland

  • August 22 – October 31

If some people had their way, Halloween at Disneyland would be all-year round.

Halloween at Disneyland starts on August 22, with plenty of decorations, entertainment, and treats. One of the biggest transformations at Disneyland includes giant pumpkins in the shapes of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto welcoming you into Disneyland Park. Inside Disneyland Park, Haunted Mansion transforms into the Haunted Mansion Holiday, full of Nightmare Before Christmas enhancements.

Across the promenade, Oogie Boogie welcomes you into Disney California Adventure. And as you make your way down Buena Vista Street, you’ll be greeted by the headless horseman. Over in Cars Land, Haul-O-Ween takes over as the residents of Radiator Springs dress in silly costumes and decorate their homes and shops. And on select nights, Disney California Adventure hosts a huge Halloween party: Oogie Boogie Bash.

There’s so much more to look forward to during the Halloween season, so stay tuned for our next article on the Fall events at Disneyland!
