Disney Cruise Line has announced the arrival of their newest ship, the Disney Wish, to sail its inaugural sailing on June 9, 2022, for a 5-night Bahamian cruise.

©️Disney
After the inaugural sailing, the Disney Wish will sail 3 and 4-night cruises stopping in Nassau and at Disney’s private island, a guest favorite, Castaway Cay.
The exact sailing schedule has not been provided but we can begin to get an idea knowing the ship will be doing 3 and 4 night turns after the inaugural 5 nights.
- June 9-14, 2022 – 5 night inaugural sailing
- June 14- 17, 2022 – 3 night
- June 17 – 20, 2022 – 4 night
Guests who have sailed with Disney before will have preferred booking dates, listed below, to ensure they get to experience Disney’s newest marvel at sea.
Here’s what we know about the Disney Wish.
Table of Contents
The ship is 15 decks high compared to the Disney Dream and Fantasy’s 14 decks and the Disney Magic and Disney Wonders 11 decks. The Disney Wish weighs in at 144,000 gross tons, larger than the four previous ships, yet has the same number of staterooms as offered on the other 4 ships; 1,244.
Staterooms
The majority of the staterooms have Verandahs (balcony). This is great news for guests like me who enjoy sipping coffee and wine on my verandah. Think prices, the more that are available, the better the price is!
The Disney Wish will also offer guests inside staterooms, oceanview staterooms, and concierge-level staterooms including verandahs, 1 bedroom suites, 2 bedroom Royal Suites (two stories tall), and new to Disney Cruise Line concierge level, Family Oceanview Staterooms that include floor to ceiling windows. For all the amenities offered to converge, level guests, and explore if those amenities are “worth it” visit my How to Plan Your Disney Cruise Line Vacation post.
Dining
Onboard the Disney Wish guests will get to experience Disney Cruise Lines rotational dining where guests experience a new restaurant each evening while keeping their beloved wait staff. New to the Disney Wish is Arendlle: A “Frozen” Dining Adventure, Worlds of Marvel, and 1923. Personally, I’m most excited for 1923, a “restaurant where imaginative dining meets Hollywood elegance”.
In addition to these included restaurants, adults will be able to visit Palo (a new twist from the beloved Palo experience on other Disney Cruise ships) and Enchante, a 3-star Michelin-rated restaurant inspired by Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast. Every great Disney fan loves theming adapted from their favorite characters!
Entertainment
Guests sailing aboard the Disney Wish will enjoy entertainment from the new Grand Hall stage, the Walt Disney Theatre including a performance of Aladin among other shows, the Aqua-Mouse – the first-ever attraction at sea! Think AquaDuck water slide combined with Disney short films like Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway all while circling the entire ship from above.
Of course, adults will have their own space too! Star Wars fans will be impressed by the new Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge, The Rose lounge, and adults-only pool – Quiet Cove.
Cool Kids Clubs
Disney Crusie Line has always had the best kids clubs at sea but they’ve stepped it up a notch on the Disney Wish! Kids ages 3 – 12 can slide into the Disney Oceaneer Club from the dining room and experience Marvel Super Hero Academy, Walt Disney Imagineering Lap, and Fairytale Hall.
And tweens ages 11-14 can hang out in NYC-style loft at the Edge and teens 14 – 17 have a lounge all their own at Vibe.
Prices
This is the part everyone wants to know. Just how much is a family vacation onboard the Disney Wish going to cost. I don’t have the exact answers and we won’t’ really know until it can be booked beginning May 17th (for all Platinum Level Guests) and of course, the prices will change based on season and availability.
But the best comparison I can make now is by looking at what a 3 and 4 night sailing onboard the Disney Fantasy currently costs. This will give you an idea for budgeting but be mindful a new ship will more than likely have high demand and be more expensive. YOLO!
