Hollywood Studios Touring Plan – Without Fast Passes

As I’m sure you’ve guessed, Hollywood Studios is high on everyone’s list to visit while in town thanks to Galaxy’s Edge and Rise of the Resistance! Although that is a big draw, there are many other exciting rides to experience in this park and they fill up fast. This park isn’t the largest, but due to its many in demand attractions you definitely need to have a plan before you arrive. And of course, I’ve included tips for how to get a boarding pass for Rise of the Resistance!

A couple other key points to keep in mind are:

  • A reservation is required ahead of time to enter the park and can be made by clinking the link in your My Disney Experience app.
  • Weekdays are less busy with shorter wait times and preferred if you can manage it
  • Be sure to check the park hours in advance and double check again the night before you plan to visit as they often vary between days and can change.
  • Wait times are often shown longer than they actually are (which is good news!)

Arrival to Hollywood Studios

On your Hollywood Studios day, you’ll want to arrive 30 minutes to 45 minutes prior to park opening time.

When you enter the park go straight down the main street (Hollywood Blvd) and try to ignore all those fun shops (you can come back to them later). When you see Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway resist the urge to get in line and instead take a slight right and head to Toy Story Land.

Touring Plan

  1. Slinky Dog Dash
  2. Toy Story Mania
  3. Alien Saucer Spin
  4. Tower of Terror
  5. Rockin Roller Coaster
  6. For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen sing-Along Celebration – check show times
  7. As you pass by Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway check the wait time. If the line is an hour or less, get in line. If not, continue moving and return later but be mindful of your time if this is a must ride attraction for your family.
  8. Star Tours
  9. Rise of the Resistance
  10. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run (- Ultimate Guide to Galaxy’s Edge can be found here)
  11. Mickey Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Additional Attractions

As you’re following your touring plan you can always squeeze these in as you walk by if time allows or add them at the end of the day.

  1. Lightening McQueens Racing Academy – check showtimes
  2. Muppet Vision 3D
  3. Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey and Minnie
  4. Walt Disney Presents
  5. Disney Junior Play and Dance! – check showtimes

Other things to do at Hollywood Studios:

Build your Droid or Lightsaber

  • Not a ride but a ton of fun!

Hi, I'm Jamie, traveling mama, entrepreneur, and travel advisor. I'm addicted to Disney, traveling and exploring the world with my family, and have a passion for helping families experience the magic of travel. My home is filled with love and chaos, 2 crazy girls, 2 large dogs, and the most spectacular architect and Disney Cast Member I call my husband. We live in Florida and spend our weekends playing at Orlando's many theme parks and visiting the beach. In 2015, after helping numerous families plan their vacations to various Disney Destinations, I started a blog to answer all of the many travel questions I received daily. In 2016, the blog grew into a travel agency, and Love of the Magic Vacations was born. With a team of nearly 20, we spend our days creating family vacations around the world. What started as a blog is now a full service, worldwide vacation destination planning service. I create custom itineraries for each of my clients that not only meets but exceeds expectations. There is no greater gift than making memories while sharing the world and its cultures with your kids.
